Welcome to the Food Pantry of Waukesha County.
End hunger. Start Here.
From Karen Tredwell, Executive
Director:
Were you aware that 90% of the food distributed to our clients is generated from hundreds of local drives. Waukesha County residents’ generosity annually generates $1,135,000.00 worth of food! Our goal is to serve those in need in Waukesha County. To meet this goal, we need to make the Food Pantry of Waukesha County (FPWC) more prominent in the minds of individuals, congregations, schools and businesses, who are our main sources of donations. We decided it was time for us to strengthen our marketing tactics, thereby generating greater monetary and food donations to better serve our clients. Our first step was developing a new logo and tag line that better represent our services. The new logo shows the multifaceted ways FPWC serves the community by providing not only food but personal hygiene items and resources to lay the groundwork for a brighter future. We wanted our new tag line - End hunger. Start here. - to be powerful enough to speak for itself and to speak to potential donors. Many people see the need that exists in our community but are unsure of how they can help. They may feel their contributions are insignificant compared to the number in need. We want to stress that every person is capable of making a difference, through monetary or food donations or through a helping hand, and the Food Pantry provides that starting point. We are, and have been since 1978, a free-standing, non-profit organization. Many Waukesha County residents mistakenly believe that The Food Pantry is a government agency. Yes, we distribute surplus government food, but we are not a government agency.
I encourage you to browse through the Web site and
enjoy our new look, but also keep our motive in mind - to increase our donations
to meet the increasing need of our services.
